When it comes to taking care of skin many are still not educated on what to do. With elements such as the weather, genetics, maintenance, and product everyone is bombarded as to what to do. A few simple steps to take care of your skin can help bring out the very best in skincare.
Determine your skin type first before stepping into a skincare program. Keep it simple so that you don't overwhelm yourself with the routine. Think about what your goals are for your skin. Maybe it's pre-mature aging, oily, brightening, or just a normal routine to stick by. Whatever you decide find products that fit your specific needs.
So here are a few simple steps to incorporate into your skincare program.
Step 1: Cleansing is important for the health of your skin. The human body sheds thousands upon thousands of dead skincells everyday. Keeping your skin clean and helping to accelerate the process of skin rejevenation brings out that new, fresh skin to the surface.
Step 2: Hydration brings back some of that moisture lost through the cleansing process. Determine your skin type to get the right sprizter or toner for your skin. You may want to apply with a cottonball or spray it on. It's up to you. Using the cottonball or cotton pad helps eliminate any excess cleansing product that you may have missed during the cleansing process. Let the liquid dry on your skin this will prepare for the final step.
Step 3: Moisturize. I cannot emphasize enough of how everyone needs moisturizer. Yes even those with oily skin. For oily skin, you may want to lean towards a water based, non comedogenic moisturizer. It's light but it still gives you a bit of moisture to an already thirsting skin. (Believe it or not, your body is actually reacting to dry skin by overproducing oil). Individuals with dry skin, reach for the products with humectants that keep the skin hydrated throughout the day.
Now at least once or twice a week, depending on your needs, exfoliate with a mask or scrub. If you are still not sure. I would recommend finding a good esthetician, skin therapist, or skin specialist. Ask questions to understand the depth of their knowledge. You will be surprised of what you can learn.
Until next time health on the inside as well as on the outside. Make it great.
